Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions are legally binding between you, as the client, and us, Petit Zermatt (a business operated by Petit Verbier Sàrl, registered address CP316, Verbier 1936) and are deemed accepted by you upon receipt by us of confirmation of a booking (whether such confirmation is received by us in person, by email or by telephone).
DAY TIME CHILDCARE
Carers are available during the daytime for half day or full day care. We can arrange to pick your child up from ski school upon request. Children will be looked after in their own accommodation by the carer. However, they can also be taken around Zermatt, or brought to join parents for lunch at easily accessible locations in Zermatt or on the mountain, by arrangement.
Extra activities such as swimming, sledging and rock climbing can be organised upon request, although there may be an extra cost for such activities, to be notified to you in advance. Full week carers will be equipped with a range of fun toys/games to entertain your children and we will arrange for you to meet your carer before the start of the booking for introductions and childcare details. This will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
For all bookings, minimum booking time is 4 hours with a 2 hour minimum break time between shifts. The hourly rate is billed in increments of 15 minutes, with time rounded up or down to the nearest quarter of an hour. It is advised that all pre-booked hours are utilised, as no refund will be given in the case of unused hours.
Subject to clause 2.3, our carers will arrange their own transport to and from your accommodation in Zermatt or other reasonable meeting points. Bookings outside of the Zermatt area will incur transport costs.
Payment in full for each booking must be made at the time the booking is placed. Payment may be made via bank transfer or credit card (subject to a 3% charge). By providing your credit card details, you agree that we may charge the total cost of the booking (and/or any other amounts owed by you to us pursuant to these Terms and Conditions). Please note your booking is not confirmed until payment or card details have been received. Total fees for each booking are as set out in the booking confirmation form or otherwise as notified to you by us.
If you wish to cancel a booking after it has been made, you are required to notify us in writing or by telephone as soon as possible.
For bookings scheduled during Peak Periods (being Christmas/NY/duration of February/Easter), if a booking is cancelled more than 3 weeks before the date the booking was intended to start, we will offer you a full refund. For cancellation anywhere between three weeks’ and one week’s notice, you will be refunded 50% of the total fee. If a booking is cancelled with less than one week’s notice, you will not be entitled to any refund.
For bookings scheduled at all other non-peak times, if the booking is cancelled more than one week before the intended start date, you will be refunded in full. For cancellation with one week’s notice or less, you will be refunded 50% of the total fee.
Evening babysitting may be arranged at short notice, although during Peak Periods it is recommended that you book early to avoid disappointment. Children will be looked after in their own accommodation by the carer.
Babysitting bookings are for a minimum of 2 hours aside from New Years Eve where the minimum booking time is 4 hours. Evening babysitting must start before 10pm. The hourly rate is billed in increments of 15 minutes, with time rounded up or down to the nearest quarter of an hour.
Babysitters will arrange their own transport to your accommodation if you are based in Zermatt. However you are responsible to arrange their safe transport home, and if necessary pay the taxi fare.
We require credit card details to secure a babysitting booking (although payment will not be taken at the time the booking is being made). Once the booking has been completed, the entire amount may be settled by cash with the carer at the time, or credit card (subject to a 3% charge). By providing your credit card details, you agree that we may charge the total cost of the booking (and/or any other amounts owed by you to us pursuant to these Terms and Conditions). Total fees are as set out in the booking confirmation form or otherwise as notified to you by us.
If a babysitting booking is cancelled at any time during 24 hours before the intended start of your booking, a fee of CHF70 will be charged (i.e., 2 hours minimum work). However this cancellation fee is increased to CHF100, and the minimum notice period is increased to 48 hours, for babysitting booked for New Year’s Eve.
An introductory meeting will be arranged prior to the start date of your booking. One of our managers, along with your assigned carer, will meet with you and your children. You will be asked to complete a form regarding your child (medications, allergies, dietary requirements, routine and emergency contact details). It is your responsibility to notify us of any allergies or specific medical needs prior to, or at the commencement of the booking.
All parents/guardians are encouraged to stay for the first half hour or so on the first day of child care, to aid their child with the settling-in process. However, please be aware that this time is included in your total childcare hours. Our carers will provide verbal feedback at the end of each day. Upon request we can create a daily written diary with information on routine and activities which have taken place each day.
